United States v. Texas (update)

Today, after years of awaiting an ultimate decision on the latest hotly-debated presidential immigration action, the short-handed United States Supreme Court ended up disappointing millions by reaching an even split in United States v. Texas.

This means that the Supreme Court was not able to reach a decision either way, so the lower court’s decision to issue an injunction will stand. Millions of undocumented individuals in the US will continue to hide in the shadows and only marginally contribute to the economy. This is a big missed opportunity for the growth of the United States, but hopefully Congressional action will not be too far away.
